Welcome to Web Design and IT. These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Christina Browne trading as Web Design and IT (“we,” “us,” “our”) to the client (“you,” “your”).

By commissioning our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. General Overview

As a sole trader business, all contracts are between you and Christina Browne. We are not a registered limited company. These terms ensure a clear understanding of the project scope and protect both parties.

2. Services and Quotations

  • All quotes are valid for 30 days.
  • The scope of work will be defined in a separate “Project Proposal” or email agreement. Any work requested outside of this scope will be charged at our standard hourly rate.
  • We reserve the right to decline any project without providing a reason.

3. Client Obligations

To complete your project on time, you agree to:

  • Provide all necessary text, images, and branding assets in a timely manner.
  • Ensure you have the legal right to use any materials provided to us.
  • Review work and provide feedback within 5 business days of receipt.

4. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit (typically 50%) is required before work commences.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project, prior to the website going live or files being handed over.
  • Late Payments: We reserve the right to suspend services or take down a website if invoices are not paid within 7 days of the due date.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Upon Full Payment: We grant you a license to use the website and its contents for your business purposes.
  • Our Rights: We retain the right to use screenshots or links to your project in our portfolio and marketing materials.
  • Third-Party Assets: We are not responsible for license renewals for third-party themes, plugins, or stock images unless explicitly agreed in writing.

6. Hosting and Maintenance

  • Unless you sign up for a maintenance plan, you are responsible for the ongoing security, updates, and backups of your website once it is handed over.
  • We are not liable for any service interruptions caused by third-party hosting providers (e.g., IONOS).

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Christina Browne T/A Web Design and IT shall not be liable for any:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or data.
  • Indirect or consequential loss resulting from a website being offline or containing errors.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service in question.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement with 14 days’ written notice. In the event of termination, you will be billed for all work completed up to the date of termination.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
